INTRODUCTION 
 
Step into the role of Service Architect at IC 360 and take charge of the architecture behind a high-impact, cloud-first Managed Services platform that supports organizations across Canada. This role is ideal for someone who is technically rigorous, thrives on integrating secure, scalable cloud environments, and understands the critical importance of governance, compliance, and quality reporting. As the steward of our Microsoft 365 and Azure service backbone, you’ll lead the integration of automation, AI, and analytics for the management and oversight of our client environments while enforcing technical standards and policy alignment. 
 
You'll be responsible for backend integration of systems that are not just efficient but auditable, defensible, and deeply aligned with frameworks like NIST, ITIL, and Zero Trust. Your DevOps mindset will be a powerful asset as you drive continuous improvement, reduce risk, and deliver structured reporting and dashboards that give clients real-time visibility into service performance, compliance posture, and cost efficiency.

ROLE OVERVIEW 

The Service Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and evolving the technical architecture of our centralized and multi-tenancy Managed Services backend technology stack, with a focus on secure, scalable, AI-enhanced, and cost-efficient solutions. This role oversees technical standards, client experience through technology, and the ongoing optimization of IC 360’s service platforms. 

This individual will lead the strategic and tactical use of clients' Microsoft M365 and Azure tenants, AI-powered technologies and other Professional Services Automation and ITSM tools with the goal of improving client service delivery and insight.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Solution Design 
  • Collaborate with management, sales, and internal technical teams to craft resilient architecture solutions aligned to business missions, technical needs, and client goals 
  • Understand and implement best practices around advanced Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud solutions 
  • Assess client environments and recommend optimizations to align with our developed standards 
  • Design, manage, and deploy IT solutions, ensuring adherence to quality standards and security practices 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during implementation or production support 
  • Ensure systems and platforms adhere to quality and compliance standards 
  • Assist with developing platform roadmaps and drive long-term strategies for services, infrastructure, and product integrations 
 
Program and Project Leadership 
  • Lead the execution of technical initiatives across service lines to meet business and financial objectives 
  • Manage stakeholder engagement at all levels, including both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution architectures, and progress reports 
 
Client-Facing Delivery (30% billable) 
  • Deliver technical consulting on Azure services (App Service, VNet, Azure SQL, WAF, etc.) 
  • Assist with AI-powered client integrations such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Power Automate AI-driven workflows 
  • Conduct onboarding, discovery, and modernization projects aligned with IC 360’s service architecture 
 
AI and Automation Integration 
  • Identify opportunities for automation and AI across internal and client processes 
  • Implement AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform AI, Azure Cognitive Services, and ChatGPT 
  • Govern AI use and deployment across service delivery to ensure ethical and secure integration 
 
Service Stack Ownership 
  • Own selection, configuration, lifecycle, and interoperability of all Managed Services platforms: 
  • Azure Lighthouse, Microsoft Defender, Intune, SharePoint, other multitenancy management tool sets, ITSM Platform and ticketing systems 
  • Manage service interdependencies and reliability 
 
Policy Management & Compliance 
  • Define, enforce, and monitor technical standards and compliance requirements 
  • Lead policy deployment using Azure Policy, Secure Score, Intune Compliance, and Defender dashboards 
  • Ensure repeatable, auditable service delivery across client environments 
 
Client Onboarding & Governance 
  • Standardize and lead client onboarding and ensure policy alignment across cloud, identity, device, and application infrastructure 
  • Improve governance posture through reviews and automation 
 
Reporting & Insights 
  • Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI, and Graph API integrations 
  • Report on service compliance, risk exposure, AI adoption, billing accuracy, and system performance 
 
Risk Management and Cost Optimization 
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with environments, services, and strategic projects 
  • Recommend and implement cost-saving strategies (e.g., Azure Reservations, license consolidation, M365 Licensing) 
  • Balance performance, security, and operational costs 
 
Innovation and Technical Roadmapping 
  • Research and assess emerging technologies with an emphasis on AI, automation, and service optimization 
  • Pilot new offerings and lead their operationalization within IC 360’s Managed Services 
 
Vendor and Partner Management 
  • Take part in partnership building with Microsoft and AI vendors 
  • Advocate for product improvements and escalations where needed 
 
Knowledge Management & Portals 
  • Manage client-facing portals, internal knowledge repositories, and SharePoint documentation sites 
  • Apply AI-powered search, tagging, and summarization to improve usability 
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
 
Technical Expertise: 
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including App Services, VNets, SQL, Sentinel, Firewall, Microsoft 365, and Azure Lighthouse. 
  • Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API. 
  • Basic programming experience with Python. 
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint, Intune, and PowerShell scripting. 
  • Familiarity with integrating and working with REST APIs. 
  • Strong understanding of data design across various database systems. 
  • Experience working collaboratively with development teams to architect and support IT infrastructure. 
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and working in mixed developer/infrastructure teams. 
 
Leadership & Communication Skills 
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear architectural designs and process documentation. 
  • Proven experience facilitating collaboration across cross-functional teams. 
  • Skilled in delivering executive-level presentations and producing detailed technical reports. 
 
Qualifications 
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in a cloud architecture or technical leadership role. 
  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, or AI technologies are strong assets. 
  • Familiarity with ITIL, TOGAF, NIST, and Zero Trust principles. 
  • Bilingual (English/French) candidates are highly valued.
